Sharon Volpe is a NYC-Based Painter, Illustrator, Designer and Teacher of Studio Art. She comes from the NYC area, and completed an M.F.A. in illustration at The Fashion Institute of Technology in 2016. Prior to that she studied graphic design at The School of Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited in many shows from NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, and in 2018 Paris.
Her work was selected as a Runner Up in Creative Quarterly Issue No. 52, and will be showcased on the Creative Quarterly website alongside other artists in the field of design, illustration, photography and more in the Fall 2018.
She is a member of The CON ARTIST COLLECTIVE on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and also a listed artist on the well-known directory @thewomenwhodraw.
Her practice ranges from small expressionistic mixed-media portrait paintings to digital illustration, lettering and wearable art to create a whimsical yet cohesive body of work mostly paying homage to the human experience.
In 2016, she founded Bodies in Motion, a line of original artworks and clothing that pays tribute to the art of movement. In 2017, she was a featured artist and vendor in a large event curated by NYC Event Producer Brianni T. for Beyonce and Rihanna titled ANTILEMONADE.
